Registered Nurses | Occupational Therapists | Physiotherapists | Paramedics | Pharmacists
Still love being clinical, just not the shift pattern?
What if you could keep using your clinical expertise without nights, weekends or long shifts?
We're recruiting Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Disability Assessors in Fareham. You'll assess how a person's health condition or disability affects their day-to-day life and mobility, things like preparing food, washing, dressing and getting around, then write the report the DWP uses to make PIP decisions.
Who can apply?
- Registered Nurses (NMC), Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists or Paramedics (HCPC), or Pharmacists (GPhC), with active registration and no conditions or restrictions
- At least 1 year of post-registration adult clinical experience
- Full right to work in the UK (we can't offer sponsorship)
You don't need any previous assessor experience. Full training is provided on full pay.
We're also recruiting WCA Assessors
If you're a Registered Nurse, OT or Physio, you can also apply for our Work Capability Assessment (WCA) roles. These start at £42,000 and focus on how health conditions affect someone's capability for work. Let us know when you apply and we'll talk you through both.
What's in it for you?
- £45,000 starting salary
- £1,000 pay rise at 6 months and another £1,000 at 12 months (£42,000)
- £2,000 one-off bonus once you're signed off after training
- Bonus of up to £1,000 every quarter after that (up to 10% a year)
- Overtime available at time and a half
- Extra pay if you take on auditing or training delivery
- Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with no nights, weekends or bank holidays
- Hybrid working
- Full-time, or part-time on 3 or 4 days a week (pro rata)
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to buy more
- Up to 6% pension contribution
- Employee discounts and wellbeing support
- Clear career progression
What will you actually be doing?
- Telephone and face-to-face PIP assessments
- Reviewing medical evidence and supporting information
- Looking at how health conditions affect daily living and mobility
- Using your clinical reasoning and professional judgement
- Writing clear, objective, evidence-based reports for the DWP
There's no hands-on treatment, prescribing or traditional caseload. Instead you'll have time to listen properly, assess and write up your findings.
You'll also need
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- Good IT skills
- Confidence working independently and managing your own workload
Please note we can't consider applications from Nursing Associates, Healthcare Assistants, student nurses or anyone without an active professional registration.
Your clinical career doesn't have to mean shift work. If you'd like a role where your experience still counts but your working week looks very different, I'd love to hear from you.
